Cool New Tools
Belgian architectural lighting brand Kreon wowed Northern California showgoers at last month’s Light! Design Expo with its host of brand new, imaginitive fixtures. These three new releases were a hit with the local trade community. If you didn’t catch them at the show, here’s a glimpse:
1. Inti
The award-winning Inti downlight allows the designer to create different atmospheres within the same environment. It features diffused illumination and directional lighting in the same fixture, and the results are spectacular. We especially love Inti’s potential applications in the hospitality sphere—the luminaires can be used to simultaneously illuminate a hallway and hotel room numbers beautifully and without unnecessary noise.
Stripe’s visually interesting form factor is oozing with modern style. It’s a competitively priced fixture that you’re sure to love for hospitality, commercial and office environments. We’re particularly fond of the wall wash version.

Meet the new a-emotional light at Light! Design Expo
Formerly known as a by arturo alvarez, a-emotional light has a new brand that captures the team’s commitment to evolution, experimentation and design that evokes emotion.
Inspired by the sea and terrain surrounding their home in Galicia, Spain, the a-emotional light team is known for creating poetic, ethereal lamps that ground the observer in nature and the elements. Everything that a-emotional light produces is handmade using high-quality, environmentally sustainable materials.
The team has spent the last year-and-a-half rolling out new designs and product options at a staggering speed, all while maintaining the commitment to quality and craftsmanship that has gained them such a loyal following. The 2022 Red Dot Design Award-winning Arkoslight Yoru portable lamp hasn’t hit the United States market. Here’s your chance to get your hands on one anyway.
Spanish architectural lighting brand Jokerlight is relatively new to the North American market, but their team is far from new to the design world. They’re known as Arkoslight overseas, and they’ve been producing innovative, timeless architectural lighting solutions since the 1980’s. We’re thrilled to introduce Jokerlight to the Northern California architecture, design and construction industry at Light! Design Expo on July 21st.

The Jokerlight team understands light as a fundamental element in life, and they create technical lighting for architecture that reflects this belief. Jokerlight will be highlighting some of its most internationally beloved offerings at Light! Design Expo. Their 2017 iF Design Award-winning Shot Light and 2019 iF Design Award-winningBlack Foster fixtures are glare-free and precise, making it near impossible to see the source of the beautiful light that the fixtures emit. They call this the ‘The Invisible Black’ effect. It must be seen to be believed, and Jokerlight will be demonstrating it at the expo.
Their low-voltage track systems are so cleverly designed and streamlined that they invite a host of sophisticated, elegant, and creative applications. The 48V system is endlessly versatile and so much fun to install. The new Minimal Track in 24V is so tiny and sleek. Its miniaturized track and components give the look of an ultrafine, minimalist line floating in space. It’s no wonder that it won a 2020 Red Dot Design Award.
